Julius Pegues Scholarship

Julius Pegues Scholarship for Students of
African American Descent

Mr. Julius Pegues was a member of The Lutheran Church of the Prince of Peace in Tulsa, Oklahoma for 50 years and a leader and mentor in the Tulsa community. He was a human rights advocate who focused his energy on quality education, reconciliation, and justice.

Named in his memory, the Julius Pegues Scholarship of the Arkansas-Oklahoma Synod awards scholarships annually to post-secondary students of African Descent who are nominated by an AOK congregation.

Recipients will be awarded a scholarship in the amount of $2000 based on demonstrated academic achievement, community and extracurricular involvement, and leadership.
