Pastor Liz travels to London as Great Britain receives their new Bishop

Pastor Liz travels to London this week to represent Bishop Mike, the AR-OK Synod and the ELCA as the Lutheran Church in Great Britain receives their new Bishop, the Rev. Tor Jørgensen. She will be giving a gift and letter written by Bishop Mike.

For Everything, A Season

This picture was taken outside of Cushing, Oklahoma. The windmill and rusted building points to old hopes and times of prosperity. The land itself is preparing for winter. Even so, there is a sense of rugged endurance and the promise of spring. Not unlike the Church waiting for the coming of Christ and the time when God will make all things new.

On the occasion of the reception of the Reverend Tor Berger Jorgensen as bishop of the Lutheran Church in Great Britain on Saturday, October 5, 2019, let this picture represent the hope and bond we share in Jesus.

Rev. Tor Jørgensen

May this be a season of hope and possibility; may the Spirit of

our living Lord Jesus move powerfully in and through you; and may God’s grace sustain and ground you so that you are filled with peace and joy as you bear witness to the goodness and love of God.

Rev. Michael Girlinghouse

Bishop of the Arkansas-Oklahoma Synod of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America

05 October 2019

We invite you and your congregations to pray for him and the Lutheran Church in Great Britain.

(And for Pastor Liz during her travels!)
